WELLAND, Ont. – A 65-year-old woman from Welland, Ont., is dead after being struck by two vehicles as she crossed a street on Thursday night.
Niagara Region police say the woman was crossing Southworth St. at about 10:15 p.m. when she stepped into the path of an SUV driven by a 22-year-old Welland man.
The woman was then struck a second time by another SUV driven by a 42-year-old man from Wainfleet, Ont., and suffered fatal injuries.
Police say her name is not being released out of respect for the family.
Neither driver suffered any injuries in the collision, which remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and police.
