“Venture 13” is housed in building 13 in the Northam industrial park on division street. Originally the headquarters for an army ordnance corps depot, the building will be a hub for new startups in the area, featuring one-stop shopping for businesses. “Venture 13” will bring together industry, academia, investors and economic development professionals under one roof.
“CFDC, Northumberland Manufacturers, Cobourg Economic Development, they will all be part of it providing services to entrepreneurs, its the best way for success to occur” says Stephen Peacock, Town of Cobourg CAO
Many such facilities are popping up all over Ontario. Right from the start, staff from “Venture 13” traveled to many of them, including ‘The Hub’ in Peterborough

“We toured the facility, they shared a lot of resources with us, it’s really been a community approach, giving us a lot of the content we could leverage and learn from, we had candid discussions with them” says Erika Seggie with Community Futures
