Edmonton police issue warrants for violent offender 1 week after release

A convicted violent offender who was released from custody one week ago is once again wanted by police for allegedly breaching the conditions of his release.

Last Monday, police warned the public of the release of Shaun Bradley Cardinal because they believed he would commit another violent offence.

The 34-year-old was released on a number of court-ordered conditions, including a curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. He was also ordered to abstain from alcohol or drugs, not enter any licensed premise other than a dining room to have a meal, not possess any kind of weapon and not leave Edmonton without prior approval.

In a media release issued Monday afternoon, police said Cardinal was wanted on two counts of breaching recognizance.

Police said Cardinal is considered a high-risk offender and he should not be approached. He has brown eyes, black hair, is five-foot-eight and 150 pounds and has several neck and face tattoos.

Anyone who has information on Cardinal’s whereabouts is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
