Police investigating second threat against St. Thomas high school

St. Thomas Police Service are investigating a second threat in just five days. stps.on.ca

For the second time in a week, police in St. Thomas say they’ve received a threat with the aim of cancelling classes at a local high school.

It happened just after noon on Monday, when a threat intended to cancel classes at St. Joseph Catholic High School was received by police, said St. Thomas police and the London District Catholic School Board (LDCSB) in a joint release.

They say students were evacuated to a nearby public school for about an hour and a half.

The threat was the second in just five days. Officials say a similar threat with the same intention was received Thursday evening.

Officers say they will continue to investigate the threats to ensure the safety of students, staff and the public.

The LDCSB says it is confident in the steps that have been taken and in the ongoing investigation into these very serious criminal matters.
