A threatening message written on a washroom stall at a Kitchener high school has staff and police on high alert.
Waterloo Regional Police said a staff member at Huron Heights Secondary School on Strasburg Road spotted the message Tuesday night.
The message read “School Shooting March 28! Not a joke. Watch out.”
Police said they are investigating to determine who wrote the message and the motive behind it.
In a statement, the principal of the high school said they take any threat of violence very seriously.
“Words of acts of violence or intimidation are never appropriate and even when said in jest are never funny,” said Jeff Klinck. “Actions or stunts like this will be met with severe consequences to ensure the safety of our school and our students.”
Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to call police at 519-570-9777 ext 4421 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
