RCMP were called early Thursday morning after the woman was taken to hospital from her home on Cordon Place. She later died.

“We were made aware of the female’s condition from the hospital staff. They were concerned for her, and we did respond to the hospital,” RCMP Const. Kelly Brett said. “She was later then taken off life support, and she died as a result of her injuries.”

“Obviously the investigation is still in its early stages. Our members have been on scene the entire weekend conducting their investigation, conducting neighbourhood inquiries, so at this time we don’t have any information as to what occurred at the residence. We are still trying to figure out all those details,” Brett said.

A construction worker working nearby said he witnessed a bizarre incident a couple of days prior to the woman’s death. He said he saw a woman in the home come out in a bathrobe and yell something, but it was unclear what she said. A naked man followed her out. The two then went back into the home.

RCMP remain on scene at Cordon Place. They say there is no risk to the public.
