Three people are facing charges of trespassing into the Elora Gorge over the weekend.

Wellington County OPP responded to an injured persons call around 6 p.m. at the Elora Gorge on Sunday evening after receiving initial reports that an 18- year old man from Grand Valley had fallen into the Grand River.

Provincial police were joined alongside Centre Wellington fire and paramedic services at the scene.

Investigators say the man lost his grip while hanging from a nearby truss bridge and fell about 12 metres to the ice shelf below, narrowly avoiding the rushing waters.
