Two people have died after a house fire on the Onion Lake Cree Nation this past weekend.

Onion Lake RCMP were called to the blaze at around 8:15 p.m. CT on March 10. The fire was put out the next day.

The remains of two people were located inside the home. Autopsies have been ordered for later this week to confirm their identities.

Police do not believe the fire is suspicious, however the cause is still under investigation.

Onion Lake Cree Nation is approximately 280 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
