Calgary Flames goaltender Mike Smith will make his return to the team after being activated off the injured list Sunday morning, according to a press release.
Smith had started 47 games for the Flames this season before he was injured on Feb. 11 in a game against the New York Islanders. He has been on the injured reserve list with a lower body for the past month.
The Flames also announced Sunday that they have assigned goaltender Jon Gillies back to the Stockton Heat, the club’s affiliate in the American Hockey League. The 24-year-old has played in seven games for the Flames this season, amassing a record of 2-2-1.
