Toronto Pearson Airport to welcome 130K travellers daily during March Break

Friday marks the beginning of March Break for many people in Ontario. That means a large number of families are heading out of town for a week-long getaway. Marianne Dimain is at Pearson Airport with more on how travellers are coping on one of the busiest travel days of the year – Mar 9, 2018

Travellers are flooding the gates at Toronto Pearson Airport on Friday for the start of March Break.

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) said they expect around 130,000 passengers per day to move through Pearson between March 9 to 18.

“It’s been a slightly busier morning but certainly not our busiest season,” GTAA spokesperson Natalie Moncur said. “Summer tends to be our busiest season at Pearson.”

Travellers are being reminded to check their flight status prior to arriving at the airport and to check-in 24 hours in advance of your flight.

Moncur said it is also important to dress and pack accordingly to move through the security gates more smoothly.

“Make sure you have gels and liquids, if you have them in your carry-on, in some clear plastic bags, zip lock bags. Make sure your travel documents are up to date,” Moncur said.
