85-year-old pedestrian struck by vehicle in Rosemont

An 85-year-old pedestrian has been brought to hospital and is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Rosemont, on Thursday.

The collision happened at 3:30 p.m., according to Montreal police, at the corner of Beaubien Street West and Pie-IX Boulevard.

The driver was also taken to hospital — the 42-year-old woman was being treated for shock.

A witness said the driver of a white SUV made a left turn off of Pie-IX Boulevard and struck the pedestrian as she was crossing Beaubien Street.

Police are investigating the cause of the incident.

Police are on scene diverting traffic as Pie-IX is closed between Bellechasse and St-Zotique.
