A community-based methadone clinic in Halifax will soon have a new home.
Direction 180 is set to move across the road from its current location on Gottingen Street to a new spot currently occupied by the Guardian Pharmacy.
Cindy MacIssac, executive director of Direction 180, told Global News that it will be a few months before they move into the new space, likely sometime in June.

The methadone clinic is known for helping patients with opioid addiction and plays an important role in harm reduction services in Halifax.
Statistics released last year by the Medical Examiner’s Office indicate that there have been 45 confirmed deaths due to overdoses and 12 probable deaths. A large percentage of them were linked to opioid toxicity.
Last fall, Nova Scotia announced an investment of $800,000 to improve access to opioid addiction treatment.

The pharmacy will also be moving down the street.
A tweet from their Twitter account says they’ll be moving into the first floor of the McDonald Building, in the former location of the cafeteria.
