A Royal Canadian Air Force helicopter dropped an object onto a Miami, Fla. home Wednesday afternoon.
The Miami-Dade Police Department said they received a call at 3:24 p.m. ET about the incident.
RCAF public affairs officer David Lavalee told Global News said the CH-146 Griffin helicopter was part of Exercise Southern Breeze, in which search and rescue personnel were practicing over-water rescue training.
That’s when an inflatable raft, which hadn’t been inflated at the time, fell onto a home on Northeast 10th Court Rd.
Lavalee said the helicopter was returning to the U.S. coast guard airport at OPA-LOCKA in Miami. The RCAF is investigating the incident.
He explained that the RCAF conducts training exercise in Miami because of the warmer weather in the area.
One person sustained minor injuries during the incident. RCAF representatives were on scene to retrieve the raft.

Witnesses told Miami-based WSVN News the incident sounded like an explosion.
Pictures shown by WSVN show a large hole in the roof of the house.
Miami-Dade police public information officier Dectective Lee Cowart said the raft fell as part of a training exercise offshore when the helicopter was returning to OPA-LOCKA airport in the Miami area.
He said the airport is a mixed-use facility for a variety of institutions, including the coast guard and cargo planes.
