Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for Hamilton, the Halton and Niagara regions and parts of Southwestern Ontario.
The agency is reporting totals for the Hamilton area could range between 15 and 25 centimetres, with snowfall expected to start early on Thursday evening.

However, Global News chief meteorologist Anthony Farnell said Thursday afternoon that Hamilton is likely to receive less snow, between 10 and 15 cm. Niagara will be hit harder, with possible totals from 15 to 25 cm.
Mohawk College announced its campuses will be closing at 6 p.m. All classes and events have been cancelled.

The storm system will be combined with gusty winds to 60 km/h, which may result in blowing snow and very poor visibility, making Friday’s morning commute a dicey one. The Toronto area could see between one and five centimetres, Farnell said.
Forecasters said conditions should improve later Friday morning as the weather system moves away from the area.
