Three southern Albertans are facing charges after the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) searched a home located less than a block away from an elementary school.

On Monday, ALERT, along with members of the Lethbridge Police Service, executed a search warrant in the 400 block of 20 Street North.

The home had been under police surveillance for suspected drug dealing since December 2017, ALERT said in a media release Wednesday.

Police recovered a loaded .32-calibre handgun and ammunition, along with drug trafficking paraphernalia and small quantities of methamphetamine, cannabis and unknown pills.

The pills have been sent to Health Canada for analysis.

Replica handguns and edged weapons were also seized.

Thirty-four-year-old Lethbridge man Daylan Strembesky, 30-year-old Lethbridge woman Billie-Anne Paulette and 20-year-old Taber man Pedro Friesen face numerous charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, firearms-related charges and resisting arrest.
