Brace for a blast of winter this weekend after a fabulously warm finish to February.
Saskatoon Forecast
Tuesday
The warmest air of the month is moving in to finish February with temperatures only back to -14 this morning and wind chills dipping down as cool as -23.
A bit of sunshine slipped in to start our day before the next wave of clouds pushed in as we warmed up into mid-minus single digits before noon.
Clouds stuck around for the rest of the day along with a breezy south-southwesterly wind that helped raise us up to an afternoon high of -4.
Wednesday
-22 is what it’ll feel like with wind chill as you head out Wednesday morning, but beautiful blue skies and sunshine will slide in for the majority of the day.
The sun will help heat us up to an afternoon high that will flirt with the freezing mark.
Thursday-Friday
Clouds then roll back in on Thursday and stick around for the rest of the week to kickoff March as a system churning off the coast starts to push Pacific moisture over the area.
Daytime highs will collide close to the freezing mark both days as morning lows will dip into minus double digits with a chance of flurries late Friday.
Weekend Outlook
Heavy snow is expected on Saturday with five to 10 centimetres possible as a low pressure system swings through the Prairies and kicks up winds that could reduce visibility at times.
The snow may linger into the second half of the weekend as well with daytime highs sliding back into mid-minus single digits both days.
