The Saskatchewan Rush downed the Calgary Roughnecks 10-6 in National Lacrosse League (NLL) action on Saturday at SaskTel Centre.

Rush’s offence was led by Mark Matthews, who had a hat trick and four assists in front of a crowd of 15,075 in Saskatoon. Saskatchewan was five-for-five on the power play.

Roughnecks forward Wesley Berg recorded four goals and two assists. Calgary scored on all three of its power plays.

Saskatchewan goaltender Evan Kirk was named the game’s first star for totalling 37 saves in the win. Christian Del Bianco stopped 42 shots for Calgary.

The Roughnecks (4-6) will face the Rush one more time in the regular season on April 28.

The recent victory secured a NLL playoff spot for the Rush (9-2).

Saskatchewan will host the Vancouver Stealth next on March 3.
