Due to the snow expected to hit B.C.’s South Coast Friday, there are a few school closures across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
The following schools are closed today:
- Mediated learning academy in Coquitlam
- St. Michael’s Elementary in Burnaby
- St. John Brebeuf Regional Secondary in Abbotsford
- Southpointe Academy in Delta
- Eaton Arrowsmith School (K-12) at UBC
- Magnussen School (K-7) at UBC
Maple Ridge public schools are open but parents can pick up kids early.
- Vancouver Community College closed as of 12 p.m.
- Simon Fraser University Burnaby, Vancouver and Surrey campus classes are cancelled from 1 p.m. onwards
- All BCIT campuses are now CLOSED for the remainder of today
- All Douglas College campuses are CLOSED for the rest of today
- Emily Carr campus will be CLOSED as of 2 p.m.
- Kwantlen University cancelling classes and closing its campuses. Surrey Open House will proceed tomorrow as scheduled, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Langara is closed as of 12:45 pm today and all classes are cancelled. The 601 Broadway Campus, as well as Langara Continuing Studies VSB classes at John Oliver and Vancouver Technical Secondary are also cancelled.
- Classes at all UFV campuses cancelled from 2:30 pm onward. All campuses will remain open until 3 pm.

Vancouver schools remain open but parents can pick up their kids early:
Many public school districts across the region do not have school anyway today, however, as it is a Pro-D Day.
This includes Abbotsford, Mission, Coquitlam, Delta, Fraser Cascade, Langley, North Vancouver, Richmond, New Westminster, North Vancouver and Chilliwack.
We will update this list if any more schools announce closures on Friday.
