Toronto’s Neal Bledsoe takes ‘Ironside’ role

TORONTO – Canadian actor Neal Bledsoe will star in the pilot for a reboot of classic TV series Ironside.

The 31-year-old Toronto native, whose credits include Smash and Ugly Betty, will play a wealthy and highly educated cop named Teddy opposite Blair Underwood as Robert T. Ironside.

The original Ironside series, which ran from 1967 to 1975, starred B.C. actor Raymond Burr in the lead role.

Bledsoe is one of several Canadians making pilots this season. Will Sasso of Ladner, B.C. is making a comedy pilot called Middle Age Rage; Toronto’s Catherine O’Hara is starring in To My Future Assistant; and Montreal native Rachelle Lefevre is doing the drama Under the Dome.
