Peel Region police say the vehicle did not remain at the scene.

Satchithanantha Vaithilingam, a 60-year-old Brampton man alleged to be the driver, surrendered to police on Saturday and has now been charged with failing to remain causing death.

Three other Brampton residents – Hivissa Satchithananthan, Shajeetha Satchithananthan and Gowtham Satkunarajah – are each charged with accessory after the fact.

The alleged driver will appear in court on March 12 and his co-accused are scheduled to appear on March 26.
