Suspect wanted in Grande Prairie shooting arrested

A man wanted in connection with an overnight shooting in Grande Prairie has been arrested.

Grande Prairie RCMP said Dakota Jackson Grey, 22, was arrested at a home in the northern Alberta city at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said a grader and a vehicle were involved in a collision in the area of 100 Street and 84 Avenue in Grande Prairie shortly after midnight Saturday. A person got out of the vehicle and fired shots at the grader before fleeing the area on foot.

The grader operator wasn’t shot but was taken to hospital with minor injuries and later released.

Edmonton police had also issued a warrant for Grey’s arrest for robbery.
