One person is dead after a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a commercial tractor-trailer on Thursday.
The crash west of the Rogers Pass Summit closed the Trans-Canada Highway in both directions between Golden and Revelstoke for hours.
Police said the driver of a Ford F150 died at the scene and a passenger in the pickup was taken to hospital in Golden.

RCMP said the driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.
Around 5:00 p.m. Drive BC reported that the highway had reopened in both directions.
The road had been closed for officials to conduct their scene investigation and clean up the crash site.
