Snowfall warnings have ended for the southern province but high winds are expected to remain in Winnipeg and surrounding areas Tuesday evening.
Wind with gusts to 70 km/h are expected.

Poor visibility made driving difficult, especially on the highways.
Manitoba 511 advised of several road closures around lunch time but all were reopened as of 3 p.m.
Cheryl Anderson from the City of Winnipeg said sanding crews were busy through the day Tuesday and will continue out on the streets into the evening.
“We’ll be having our spreaders out all through today and tonight. They will be on our main routes, bus routes and collectors. Currently there are 35 spreaders out,” Anderson said.
She said city crews would assess the need for plowing early Wednesday once the winds have died down.

Anderson cautioned drivers to give themselves extra time to get where they are going, to ‘stay back and stay safe’.

Roads outside the city were partially covered in snow Tuesday.The wind is expected to shift to the northwest this evening and continue blowing snow into the night.

Schools were closed in Elie, St. Francis Xavier, St. Eustache and St. Laurent due to the weather.
Several school divisions cancelled school buses in the afternoon.
