Saskatoon’s Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) bus depot has a new owner.

Meridian Development has purchased the shuttered depot along 23rd Street East.

The building has attractive architecture and is situated in a trendy, up-and-coming area, according to Colleen Wilson, co-owner of the development company.

Meridian plans to re-purpose the space.

The company did not disclose the financial details, but the City of Saskatoon most recently assessed the property’s value at $4.3 million.

The provincial government announced during the release of its 2017-18 budget that the Crown bus company would be wound up. STC vehicular operations ended on May 31.
