Christmas comes early for students at Gerald McShane Elementary thanks to Generations Foundation
“I’ve been pretty nice, so I hope Santa brings me something,” joked Christina Chilelli, the school’s principal.
This year, over 5,000 toys were donated to the organization.
The month of the December is the busiest time of year for Generations Foundation’s Adrian and Natalie Bercovici, who host and cater holiday events for the less fortunate.
“We are looking forward to a day off and less stress,” Natalie Bercovici laughed.
The toy giveaway has been going on for 18 years; the couple say their goal has always been to help those in need.
“[We want] to make sure that every child everywhere gets an opportunity, at least on meal a day,” Adrian Bercovici said.
Generations Foundation serves meals to 8,500 students in 110 schools throughout the city.
