The Hudson Village Theatre is a staple in the town’s artistic community.

It has been located at the Hudson train station since 2000 and now, the theatre company is looking to expand.
“It’s definitely one of the cultural hubs of our little town,” said Jessica Mailas, a Hudson resident.
The upgrades would include adding 4,500 square feet of space and new administrative offices.

“We could also look at having multiple functions at the theatre,” Kalina Skulska, Hudson Village Theatre executive director, said.
“We’re in our 25th season. It just has a huge role in the whole community in terms of entertainment, a gathering place for many people.”
The organization has fundraised about $100,000, but say they’ll need approximately $900,000 to fund the project.
They plan on applying for a grant from Heritage Canada, but it’s not yet known how much they may get.
“It’ll be a great spot for and it is a good spot for many artists who come to visit us,” Skulska said.
“I think we’re building up on a success and going out with it so it’s going to be euphoric.”
If the project is given the go ahead, it could take up to five years to complete.
