Canadian Armed Forces rescue 2 from boat in distress off Magdalen Islands

The Canadian Armed Forces’ Joint Task Force carried out a "complex" rescue of two fishermen who sent out a distress signal on Nov.11 west of the Magdalen Islands – Nov 17, 2017

Remarkable video has emerged of the rescue of two people from a vessel stranded in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

The rescue — a joint operation involving the Canadian Armed Forces, search and rescue and the Canadian Coast Guard —  happened on the night of  Nov. 11, 70 nautical miles west of the Magdalen Islands.

Two people were safely hoisted out of the boat and were eventually transported to Charlottetown, PEI.

A CC-130 Hercules aircraft, multiple CH-149 Cormorant helicopters and a coast guard vessel assisted in the rescue.
