Winnipeg police are searching for a suspect after a woman was robbed, dragged into a lane near Dalhousie Drive and Silverstone Avenue Friday and assaulted.
Police first received reports of a woman yelling for help just after midnight. When officers arrived they found items belonging to the victim who then called them to tell them where she was.

The woman told police she had been walking in the area when a man approached and held a knife to her throat and demanded cash. He then punched her and dragged her into a secluded area of a lane. She was assaulted and grabbed in a sexual manner.

When a vehicle approached, she yelled out for help which prompted the suspect to run away.
The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries and released.
The suspect is described as being in his mid 20s, wearing all black with a toque and scarf covering his face.
