The Regional District of Central Okanagan recently bought two properties north of Bellevue Creek that will be used to expand Woodhaven Park.

One addition is 3.5 hectares while the other is 17.7 hectare. The additions will be similar to Woodhaven and will have pathway systems.

It’s all part of a plan to better connect Kelowna’s parks.

“The properties together will connect Woodhaven to city property upstream, Canyon Falls City Park,” said Robert Hobson, Regional District of Central Okanagan Chair. “From there, people will be able to go up to Myra Bellevue Regional Park. It’s part of the city’s plan to create a public trail along Bellevue Creek.”

The two properties cost the Regional District nearly $7 million but it’s money that has been put aside for this purpose.
