A man who spent over 24 hours lost in the elements in rural Saskatchewan was found safe last week.

Turtleford RCMP said an unknown man was found in rural Saskatchewan on Nov. 1.

RCMP met with him and found out he was in need of medical attention before learning there was a second man lost in a heavily-wooded area in the rural municipality of Frenchman Butte.

Investigators were told both men had spent the night in rough terrain and freezing temperatures. They became separated from each other and the second man was still missing.

With help from Battlefords’ police dog services, a track was found and the missing man was quickly located.

He was taken to a Lloydminster hospital with hypothermia where he is expected to make a full recovery.
