RCMP in the Halifax area are investigating after a mother says she found a sewing needle in her seven-year-old daughter’s Halloween candy.
According to police, the girl had been trick-or-treating on Kaleigh Drive, Briarwood Drive and Caldwell Road in Eastern Passage in the early evening on Oct. 31.

The needle was discovered in a chocolate bar.

RCMP say there have been no other complaints to RCMP about tampered Halloween treats.
They are reminding parents to be vigilant and to check Halloween candy before allowing children to eat them.
Anyone who finds candy that has been tampered with is asked to call police.
Earlier this week, police in Bathurst, N.B. and Fredericton reported cases of tampered Halloween candy.
