Toronto police are investigating after a man was shot while in a car in the city’s Riverdale area Monday night, with the bullets narrowly missing a child under the age of five who was also in the vehicle.
The 20-year-old man was parked on Pape Avenue near Withrow Avenue when an unknown man approached the driver’s-side window and began shooting into the vehicle, police say.

The man in the vehicle was struck, with the gunfire narrowly missing the child.
The suspect is described as possibly being a teenager, black with a dark complexion, between five-foot-five and five-foot-six, thin build, skinny face, clean-shaven with a pointy chin and small thin lips. He was wearing dark pants, a black jacket or bubble vest, red hat with a hood over the hat and possibly white shoes.

He was last seen in a silver SUV with tinted windows.
Police are asking businesses in the area to check their security camera footage from between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday for any evidence.
