Man killed in northern Alberta shooting

Police are investigating the death of a man in a northern Alberta community.

RCMP said Michael Mountain was found suffering from a gunshot wound inside a home in Lac La Biche early Saturday morning after officers responded to reports of gunshots heard.

Mountain, 26, was taken to hospital where he died.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Lac La Biche RCMP are investigating, with the help of the Forensic Identification section.

“Our investigators would also like to hear from anyone in the area who may have had surveillance cameras recording around the time of the incident,” Cpl. Curtis Peters said. “Those cameras may have captured evidence that could help with the investigation.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Lac La Biche RCMP.

Mountain was a resident of Lac La Biche.
