Halifax-based sailor charged with sexual assault involving another Canadian Forces member

A Halifax-based sailor has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, involving another member of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Leading Seaman Darryl Ryan, a crew member of HMCS Fredericton, is charged with two counts of sexual assault.

According to National Defence, the two alleged incidents took place in September 2016 at CFB Borden in Ontario.

The matter will be dealt with under the military justice system and there could possibly be a court martial.
