Mike Smith made 43 saves as the Calgary Flames ended a 25-game drought at Honda Center in Anaheim.

Calgary had goals from Sean Monahan and Mikael Backlund on the way to a 2-0 win over the Ducks Monday night.

The Flames had not won in Anaheim in the regular season since Jan. 19, 2004.

The game was scoreless until late in the second period when Kevin Bieksa’s cross-checking penalty gave the Flames their fourth power play, and Sean Monahan the first goal of the game.

Backlund added a second goal in the third.

Newly-signed forward Jaromir Jagr did not dress for a third game.

There were fears the game would have to be postponed due to wildfires burning in the surrounding area, but it went ahead as planned.
