A 29-year-old Perth County man wanted on several charges in connection to an incident near Dungannon last week turned himself in to police early Thursday morning, Huron OPP said.
Kody Johnson had been sought by police for charges including possession of stolen property, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and assault following an incident on Sept. 28 at a residence on River Mill Line.
According to investigators, the owner of a stolen side-by-side utility vehicle, or UTV, attended the property that day with a friend after learning the machine was being stored there. As they tried to recover the machine, they became involved in a confrontation, police said. As the two left the property in their vehicle, police say the male suspect fired a rifle in their direction.
The suspect fled in a vehicle and managed to evade police who were called to the scene not long after. Officers later located a firearm and the getaway vehicle, but not the suspect.
