The QEW has reopened after a single-vehicle crash involving a minivan near Guelph Line closed the highway in both directions for hours and left eight people injured, including two critically.
Ontario Provincial Police said officers responded to calls regarding a vehicle rollover on the highway around 2:30 p.m., Tuesday afternoon.
Police said eight people were taken to hospital – two in critical condition and one with serious injuries. It is not clear how many victims were ejected from the vehicle.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said they are looking into whether or not seat belts were being used at the time.
Eastbound lanes towards Toronto were closed at Brant Street, but were reopened just after 6:30 p.m.
All westbound lanes were reopened just after 5:30 p.m.
