Air Canada and WestJet are waiving fees for changes and cancellations for people booked on certain flights to Las Vegas.
Following the mass shooting in Las Vegas Sunday night that claimed at least 50 lives, the airlines are noting that there may be flight delays or cancellations to the Las Vegas airport.
Air Canada is offering free re-booking to customers who are currently booked on a Las Vegas flight for Monday, Oct. 2 because, they say, “flights may be impacted by security.” Customers can re-book their flights online or by contacting Air Canada Reservations by telephone. More information is available on their website.
WestJet is urging all customers booked on flights to Las Vegas between Oct. 2 and Oct. 4 to check their flight status before leaving for the airport. They say they have implemented flexible change and cancel rules and ask that customers call to review their flight options. A WestJet spokesperson said that they will waive all change and cancel fees for those who want to cancel, change the dates of their trip or change their destination. However there may be costs associated with a destination change if the fare is higher at the new destination.
Customers can call WestJet (air-only): 1-888-937-8538 (1-888-WESTJET) or WestJet Vacations: 1-877-737-7001.
