The 29th Miss Oktoberfest has been named, and it’s Mikaila Emrich.

The 21-year-old commerce student at the University of Guelph was one of 11 finalists who attended a black-tie gala at Kitchener’s Lot 42 last night where the decision was made.

Emrich has been involved in the Oktoberfest festival in Kitchener-Waterloo for the last seven years volunteering her time just like she had been for years within the community.

In a press release; Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest interim executive director Alfred Lowrick said, “We are very pleased to announce Mikaila Emrich as Miss Oktoberfest 2017,” adding, “the search for Miss Oktoberfest identifies someone who can represent our community and our festival, as one of its lead ambassadors at more than 150 appearances throughout the year.”
