Motorcyclist killed in crash near Coe Hill

A woman is dead following a motorcycle crash on Thursday afternoon near Coe Hill, Ont.

Bancroft OPP say the crash happened around 2:40 p.m. on Highway 620 in Wollaston Township just west of Coe Hill, approximately 35 kilometres south of Bancroft.

Police say the single female rider was without vital signs when emergency medical services, Wollaston Fire Services and OPP arrived on scene.

Highway 620 between Hubert Road/Gravel Point Lane and County Road 504 remain closed as police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

OPP say the name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

UPDATE FRIDAY:

Police say the driver of the motorcycle lost control and stuck the guardrail on a corner of the highway.

The woman has been identified as Dayle Martin, 60, from Carlo-Mayo Township.
