The boost in ratings comes from Trump’s handling of hurricane relief, NBC suggests. About 71 per cent of those surveyed lauded his agreement with Democrats to provide government funding for hurricane recovery.
However, Americans disapproved of every other action of the president mentioned in the poll — from his use of Twitter (66 per cent disapprove) to his reaction to violence in Charlottesville (55 per cent). They also disagreed with the way the president is handling health-care reforms, race relations, and tensions with North Korea.

About 33 per cent of Americans said they think the businessman-turned-politician has accomplished a “great deal” or a “fair amount” as president, compared to 66 per cent who say he hasn’t done much.
Trump’s marginally rising popularity may be welcome news for the White House, but he still has a long way to go when it comes to bumping up his ratings.
A similar poll conducted at this point in Barack Obama’s presidency found that 59 per cent of Americans said he had accomplished a “great deal.”

Another poll conducted by Politico and Morning Consult this week also found that the president’s approval rating is at 43 per cent, with 52 per cent disapproval. Five per cent of respondents had no opinion on the matter.
“Trump’s post-Charlottesville plunge proved to be short-lived, and his approval has stabilized,” Morning Consult co-founder Kyle Dropp said about the findings.

However, it also reported that 65 per cent of Americans think the U.S. is on the “wrong track.”
