The RCMP is looking for 42-year-old Mark Sameer Batraki, who is wanted in connection with a hit-and-run in Langley in April.

It isn’t the first time he’s been charged in connection with a serious vehicle crash.

Batraki struck and killed a motorcyclist in Kelowna in 2012. He pleaded guilty under the Motor Vehicle Act to driving without due care and attention but didn’t face any criminal code charges.

He apologized in the courtroom to the victim’s family.

“I’m terribly, terribly sorry for what happened. I wish there was something I could do more. I’m just terribly sorry,” Batraki said.

He told police at the crash site he wasn’t paying attention and was looking into his lap when he rear-ended the motorcycle which was stopped at a red light on Harvey Avenue.

RCMP said his last known address was in the Kelowna area, but they don’t know where he is at this time.
