According to Guinness officials, the sandcastle was just under two metres higher than the previous record holder.
The team used 3,500 tonnes of sand for their creation.
Leguin said she focused on the turtle section of the sculpture during her eight days of working on the project.
“On this project, I did both architecture and organic pieces as well, so it was nice and a lot of our own style is reflected in the work as well,” Leguin said.
“It’s nice to see the variation between 15 different sculptors from different countries.”
Leguen was the only member of the team from Canada.
