The charges come after police officers saved a one-year-old baby by crawling through a fire in an apartment in Montreal’s east end Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
“They found the baby, who was in distress, and they were able to extract the child,” said Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture Thursday.
Police then evacuated all other residents from the building, knocking down some doors.
