A check on a suspicious vehicle ended with Prince Albert police seizing a stolen car and a shotgun and charging a man wanted on outstanding warrants.

Officers spotted the vehicle early Friday morning parked in the 3200-block of 2nd Avenue West.

The officers determined it had been reported stolen and the driver was arrested.

They then searched the car and found a 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition.

The driver, a 35-year-old Prince Albert man, was found to be wanted on outstanding Criminal Code warrants and is now facing a number of charges including possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

He is scheduled to appear Friday in Prince Albert provincial court.
