Inmate dies at Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon

An inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon has died.

Correctional Service Canada (CSC) said James Leo Short, 33, died on Aug. 30.

Staff said emergency services were called but Short could not be resuscitated.

A cause of death has not been released.

His family has been notified.

Short had been serving a three-year, four-month sentence since April 22, 2016 for robbery, break and enter, theft and failing to comply with a probation order.

Police and the coroner’s office have been notified and CSC will review the circumstances of Short’s death.
