UPDATE: Fire ban lifted for Little Red River Park

A fire ban was declared in Prince Albert on Wednesday for all residential property north of the Saskatchewan River.

The ban also includes Little Red River Park.

City officials said the ban was declared due to the potential for wildfires.

The ban includes all open fires and fireworks, but does not include properly maintained fuel gas appliances.

The fire ban will remain in as long as high risk conditions for wildfires continue to exist.

Earlier in the week, a fire ban was declared for the RMs of Vanscoy and Montrose, including the communities of Vanscoy and Delisle, due to the extreme wildfire conditions.

A fire ban is in place for all Saskatchewan Crown land, provincial parks and recreation areas south of the Churchill River.
