UPDATE – Traffic is again flowing on Highway 33 near Kelowna with both lanes re-opened at about 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre is reminding drivers to obey flagging personnel and lowered speed limits.
Highway 33 through the area of the Philpott Road wildfire east of Kelowna has again been closed to traffic.
The closure is not because of the behaviour of the fire.
Officials say it’s to ensure the safe movement of emergency personnel and equipment through the fire zone.
Motorists can use the McCulloch forest service road as a detour around the closed area.
