A poster for the seminar in Beijing featured a Government of Saskatchewan logo and incorrectly stated Boyd was minister of the economy – he resigned that position in April 2016.

Boyd said in a statement emailed to Regina radio station CJME that titles remain in place in China, so the reference to him being minister of the economy “is custom in that country.”

The Kindersley MLA announced Tuesday he is retiring from politics effective Sept. 1.

Boyd says he’s confident there was no conflict of interest and all those who attended the seminars are being contacted to clarify that the government of Saskatchewan was not involved.
