Bonnyville RCMP are searching for a suspect after an armed robbery over the long weekend that resulted in one person being shot.

Just after midnight on Monday, police responded to a liquor store on 50th Avenue where they found a store employee with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Police say that three men entered the store, one distracted the employee while the two others stole liquor, and a gunshot was fired, striking the victim. The suspects then fled.

The victim was airlifted to Edmonton hospital in stable condition and has been released.

Two men were arrested at a residence shortly after the incident, and a third was arrested later that day. A fourth suspect, who allegedly was with the trio, is still on the loose.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Tyre Darren Lorenzo Youngchief, age 20, of Kehewin, Alta. He is facing several charges, including possession of property over $5,000.
